As most of you know, I hosted my very own Dwell Dinner in December along with my friend and fellow creative, Shane Anderson from That Stylish Nerd. The dinner itself was amazing and so delicious, but it was the conversation that meant the most.
Shane and I put this dinner together so we could share the journeys we’re on with our careers, but also so we could open the door for others to share about theirs. So many of us have a “day job”, but what we’re really passionate about is what keeps us going. For me, it’s blogging and content creation, but it looks different for everyone. The most important thing, though, is being able to recognize the moments when you’re supposed to make a change—the wayfinders.
This was the word of the dinner—each Dwell Dinner has one—carefully chosen words to represent the meaning of the gathering. In this case, twelve strangers sat around a table together and revealed some of their greatest fears and biggest accomplishments. And although it may seem like a strange concept, it’s one that has led me to incredible friendships and the motivation to be more myself than I ever thought possible.
We wanted everyone who attended this Dwell Dinner, to have something to take away, not only as a reminder of a wonderful evening, but to look for the wayfinders in their life and to always have the confidence and courage to pursue them.
To get a look inside the dinner and our conversation, give the below video a watch.
To those who came to this dinner—thank you so much for being vulnerable enough to share your hopes, dreams and ambitions. And to those who weren’t able to come, let this video and concept empower you to be yourself no matter what and to always chase your passions.
